1. What are SASSmail's PC requirements?

System requirements: Windows 9x or Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000 or Windows ME or Windows XP*
Email Program: text based email programs such as Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, Eudora, Netscape Communicator, Virtual Access, etc.
Disk requirements: 2 Mb disk space plus up to 5K bytes per order (approx, depending on SASSmail version and configuration options chosen).
Performance: 200 orders processed per minute on a Pentium 233 (orders email and SASSpay encrypted emails); most of this time is taken for decrypting credit card details. If SASSpay is not enabled, then the rate is approximately 1000 orders per minute. 
* Pre-version 5 SASSmail may encounter problems with Windows XP when decrypting SASSpay emails.
2. Will SASSmail run on the Mac?

SASSmail only runs on Windows PCs. However, SASSmail Pro produces files that can be processed on the Mac (for example, tab delimited text files that can be input to  MS Word, Excel, and Access and other applications).
3. Is SASSmail compatible with my email system?

SASSmail reads text-based email files, and so is compatible with such systems as Microsoft Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, Eudora, and Netscape Communicator. You simply find where your email folders are stored, and what they are called and configure SASSmail accordingly. SASSmail can be configured to empty the email folders once order and payment details have been read, or this can be achieved manually. In addition, SASSmail keeps a record of where it is in the file, and continues from where it left off when new mail arrives.
SASSmail can also be configured to communicate directly with MS Outlook and Outlook Express using the messaging application program interface (MAPI).
IMPORTANT SASSmail has worked successfuly directly reading Outlook Express 5 files for many merchants processing many orders, however the Outlook file format may cause problems if emails contain 'international' characters (e.g. á, é, ô, ø) which SASSmail might interpret to be Outlook control information, in which case 'MAPI' is recommended to read orders from the Inbox.

4. Will SASSmail work with my Shop@ssistant version?

SASSmail has been tested with Shop@ssistant Classic Version 3 and MC4. In addition, SASSmail is highly configurable to adapt to different email formats. However, as the information/presentation of order details in the emails may vary from merchant to merchant, and Shop@ssistant can be tailored to suit individual needs, you are advised to arrange a trial to ensure correct operation.
5. Will SASSmail work with my Payment Service?

SASSmail has been tested with NetBanx, Worldpay, SecureTrading and SASSpay payment methods. However, information/presentation of item details in the emails may vary from merchant to merchant. In particular, NetBanx email formats and content vary from merchant to merchant. You are therefore advised to try the demonstration system, or enquire about any special considerations.
6. Can SASSmail produce address labels?

It is quite straightforward to configure SASSmail to print labels through MS Word (you can set up your own labels using the Word wizard). However, SASSmail will process a 'batch' of orders, then print the invoices, then print the labels. So (a) If you only have one printer, then you have to manually change the paper (b) You may waste labels if your batch size does not match the number of labels on a sheet.
